Spring Into Horror Read-a-thon

The Spring Into Horror Read-a-Thon is being hosted by Michelle at Castle Macabre.  I'm late getting started ... but, hey!  Better late than never?  Does that sound like a good excuse?  :)

From the blog:

You can sign in linking to Facebook, Twitter, Goodreads...wherever you will be updating from.  And you don't have to start at the beginning.  Start on any day this week, or if you're working all week, join us for the weekend.  People can sign in up until Friday night at 11:59pm CST.  I'll be stopping by and visiting you so I hope you will have your book piles/reading lists posted. *hint hint*  Remember to include at least one scary book (horror, paranormal, mystery, etc.).

So, see?  I can start ANYtime!  And so can YOU!  So get that reading list together and join the fun!  And to make it even MORE fun, there are prizes and mini-challenges!

My list (I think, and, NO, I will NOT get through all of these, because my reading time has been severely curtailed by a job and-a-half, so I can only read once Bebe Boy James goes to bed unless I'm going to or coming from work):

(covers link to Goodreads page)
Lost in Shangri-La by Mitchell Zukoff
Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafon The Night Train by Clyde Edgerton
The Bedlam Detective by Stephen Gallagher The maid of Fairbourne Hall by Julie Klassen

"The Bedlam Detective" is a gothic mystery, so it counts toward the "scary" goal!  Let's see if I can get through all of these in the next five days!

I'm currently reading:

The Odditorium by Melissa Pritchard

"The Odditorium" by Melissa Pritchard; a varied mix of stories, some odd, some not, at least a couple that are a bit "too" odd, but still ... it's original and interesting.  I'm on the third-to-last story, page 189.

If you're joining in, leave a link to your starting and/or update post so I can visit and cheer you on!

Julie

  1. You're right, Julie! Better late than never. So glad you're joining me again. What an excellent set of books. They all look great, especially The Bedlam Detective. Have fun reading this week. I'll be checking back in.

  2. Just checking back in to see how you're doing with the read-a-thon. You must be done with Odditorium by now. Was it good? What's up next?

    I hope you're enjoying the read-a-thon.

Comments make me feel all squishy happy inside, so drop a line if you see or read something interesting! PLEASE don't leave links to your blog or page unless the post you're replying to specifically asks you to leave a link!
Sorry that I had to re-enable word verification, but without it, there was far too much spam coming in - the only other option would have been to require only registered (Google, OpenID, etc.) comments, which might require you, the commenter, to go through even MORE steps just to comment!
