Make a resolution to read only the books in your To Be Read stack from January 1, 2012 to April 1. Can you survive?
The TBR Double Dare is not a book buying ban. You can still buy books during the double dare, you just can't read them until April 1, 2012. The official stance on library books is that you can only read those in your possession or on your holds list at 12:00 A.M. on Jan. 1, 2012.
I will be participating in this dare, making exceptions only for review books that come in the meantime and must be read and reviewed prior to April 1. This one is difficult for me, but since I can still BUY books, I may be able to survive!

Good luck with this one Julie.
I made a promise to myself to read 26 books in 2012 that I owned prior to the start of the year and that I am willing to part with when done. It's not a big number, but it's a start on the stacks.

This sounds like a good idea, i'm always ignoring the books on my shelves and picking up new books from shops or the library.
Maybe I should give this a go. :D
@TheBookGirl You're more ambitious than I am with that, then, as I really can't promise I'll be willing to part with them once they're read! :) I DO have a bookcase dedicated to only the TBR stack, and I resolved LAST year that I wouldn't let it get double-stacked .. that resolution sort of flew out of the window!
@barmybex That is EXACTLY why this dare appealed to me - I do the same thing! :)
