Teaser Tuesdays - September 7, 2010

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along; you don't have to be a blogger! Just do the following:
  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
My Teasers:

I am so spent I forget to use the Brooklynite's trick of coercing unwilling cabbies into the long ride; that is, I don't say, "Take Broadway," and then, only once we've gone three blocks or so, finish delivering the rest of the route:  "to the Manhattan Bridge, to the BQE to the Belt Park Parkway, to the Knapp Street exit."
"Brighton Beach," I say instead.

- page 52 Vivian Rising by Daniella Brodsky

...and yes, that is only two sentences .. two very loooong sentences!  But the book (which I only cracked open Monday evening), seems to be a pretty good read!

Loved this - especially since I recently took a trip to NY. I'm putting this book on my goodreads list for sure.
