Fall Catch-Up Read-A-Thon

9/21/2010 10:49:00 PM

So .. I'm a bit late getting in on this; but I'm really going to get through some of these books, and what better way than to participate in a challenge?  This one is really laid-back, and hosted over at The True Book Addict.

From her site:
Sign up in the linky with your starting post (or other link, if you don't have a blog).  Everyone who signs in here and participates in the read-a-thon will be entered for a $20 gift certificate to BetterWorldBooks! They ship free in the U.S. and for a small fee worldwide.  I will also be hosting a mini-challenge which will probably start on Tuesday and there will be a book(s) prize from author Charlie Courtland for this one.  Both the mini-challenge and the main giveaway will be open until Sunday, September 26 at 8pm CT.

The linky is active all week long, so it's not too late for YOU, too, to jump on in!

Here is my list of books to finish reading:

The Life O'Reilly - Brian Cohen

Red Hook Road by Ayelet Waldman

Vivian Rising by Daniella Brodsky

Yes, I am reading all 3 kind of at the same time!

Books to start and finish:

Room:  A Novel by Emma Donoghue

City of Tranquil Light - Bo Caldwell - This gorgeous cover just keeps calling to me!

I'm pretty certain that even with the day job, I can do this.  Wish me luck, as this will help take my review pile down to a more manageable 9!   Don't these all look great?

  1. Welcome to the read-a-thon! Great list you have there. I've been wanting to read Room. Hope you get a lot of reading done this week. Be sure to check out the mini-challenge here: http://thetruebookaddict.blogspot.com/2010/09/mini-challenge-fall-catch-up-read-thon.html There will be two winners of a two book prize.

    Happy reading!

  2. Have fun with this. You have some great books lined up.

  3. Readathon is halfway done!
2 days left and I can't believe how well you've come through.

Giving everyone a "YOU CAN DO IT!" shout out. I just went through my own craze with Suzanne Collins series. Just finished the last one Mockingjay and I can't believe how foolish I was to let these books just sit on the shelves for months... Albeit Mockingjay had a shorter shelf life than the first 2. Read it and PS Come up for air and take a bite in between girl :)

Comments make me feel all squishy happy inside, so drop a line if you see or read something interesting! PLEASE don't leave links to your blog or page unless the post you're replying to specifically asks you to leave a link!
Sorry that I had to re-enable word verification, but without it, there was far too much spam coming in - the only other option would have been to require only registered (Google, OpenID, etc.) comments, which might require you, the commenter, to go through even MORE steps just to comment!
