Dewey's 24-hour Readathon! Saturday, October 9th! I'm participating, will you?
What is Dewey's 24-hour Readathon?
Thanks to readerbuzz, I'm hooked on the idea!
It’s sort of a reading challenge, only everyone participates at the same time. For 24 hours, we read books, post in our blogs about our reading, and visit other readers’ blogs. We also participate in mini-challenges throughout the day.
What are the ways in which I can participate?
The five types of participants are Reader, Cheerleader, Mini-Challenge Host, Organizer and Prize Donor.
What is the role of a Cheerleader?
Key points:
1. Cheerleaders choose how much time they spend on the read-a-thon, one hour minimum.
3. We need as many cheerleaders as possible, even those who can’t spend much time on it.
I think that this will be SO much fun! You can read books and blog about them, you can visit other people's blogs and leave encouraging comments on their links, you can join the mini-challenges, you can donate prizes ...
PRIZES?!?! This includes PRIZES!!? WOOT! Yep, you can win a prize. Some really really cool prizes. For my donation, to show how much I truly love and appreciate my international readers, I'm donating a $25 Book Depository gift certificate! (I really wish I could make all of my giveaways international, but I have to follow the sponsor's requests).
If you're a book blogger or a reader or someone who just likes to win prizes, join in! There are so many ways to participate and win that NO ONE is left out! Leave a comment to let me know that you're as excited about this as I am!
